What we need for Grandma's Book for 2008....

Thank you for all your submission thus far but we're still missing most of the family. Below is a list of what we need to finish Grandma's book in time for Christmas.

Per Each Family;
  • 4 to 5 photos or one photo sheet (label photos)
  • Family Group Sheet
  • Personal History w/photo (one for each adult is preferred)
Please help pass the word along and encourage everyone to finish this for Grandma.
Email me your info and photos if possible.

Thanks a bunch!

Personal History Made Easy

STEP 1
Set aside a few minutes at least once a week to write down or record a few thoughts and history from your own life. (For this project we only need a brief history 1 to 4 pages primarily focusing on your adult life. What have you been up to?)

STEP 2

Reread your writings and make any corrections.

STEP 3

Prepare writings for publication. *Type or clearly write (black ink) out history or ask someone else to do so.

STEP 4
Mail or email histories to family representative.

The following is a list of “thought boosters” to help you on your way:

YOUTH

  • Where did you grow up? What particular landmark do you think of first and why?
  • What did you do for fun?
  • What was your first car? How did you pay for it? Where did you go?
  • What kind of jobs did you have while still in High School? What was your pay?
  • Where did you go to High School? How big was your graduating class?
  • What were your plans out of High School and why? Which goals have you obtained?
  • What do you remember most about your grandparents?
  • What’s your fondest memory from your childhood?

    ADULT LIFE
  • If you went on a mission where did you go? What is your fondest memory of your mission?
  • Describe you educational achievements and experiences.
  • Where did you meet the sweetheart you married? What first attracted you to him/her?
  • Where did you get married and any other details you’d like to share?
  • Children! How many, who, when and where? Something special about each one?
  • If married more than once, please repeat the previous three steps. (Remember it’s important to your children too!)
  • Five things you love about your spouse and why
  • What do you do for fun?
  • How do you spend your time? What do you do for employment?
  • Been there, don’t do that! Try this instead.
  • Favorite or current church callings.
  • Best family memory.
  • Where have you lived? Why? Did you like it? Why or why not? Where are you now?
  • Share a family tradition and explain why it’s important to you.
  • Describe an unforgettable event in your life or lifetime and how it’s affected you and or our world.
  • Describe how the gospel shapes your attitude, life, and family. If not the gospel, what, why, and how?
  • List your goals for the future, how you plan to achieve them, and why they’re important to you.
  • Bear your Testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
